 La Asociación Internacional de las Artes Fantásticas (International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts - IAFA) acaba de anunciar la quinta convocatoria de este premio, que esta dirigido a ensayos académicos no escritos en inglés y sobre el género fantástico.
Christopher James Bishop, hijo del escritor de ciencia ficción Michael Bishop murió en la masacre de Virginia Tech. QUINTO PREMIO JAMIE BISHOP MEMORIAL AWARD FOR AN ESSAY NOT IN ENGLISH
La definición de fantástico incluye: ciencia ficción, folklore, géneros afines en literatura, teatro, cine, ilustración, diseño gráfico y otra disciplinas relacionadas con el género.
Premio: 250 Dolares USA y una inscripción por un año a la IAFA, que se fallará durante la International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts, en marzo del 2011.
El ensayo ganador se publicará en la web de la IAFA.
El plazo de admisión de los trabajos se cerrará el 31 de octubre del 2010.
Se consideran Ensayos (de hasta 10.000 palabras, incluyendo notas y bibliografía) todos aquellos trabajos académicos del último año, inéditos presentados por su autor, o bien trabajos ya publicados presentados por su autor o por otro académico (en cuyo caso deberán contar con una autorización expresa del autor). Todos los trabajos deben acompañarse de un resumen en inglés. Los trabajos pueden remitirse, preferentemente, en formato electrónico (MS Word, WordPerfect o RTF) o bien por correo electrónico.

5th Annual Jamie Bishop Memorial Award for an Essay Not in English
We define the fantastic to include science fiction, folklore, and related genres in literature, drama, film, art and graphic design, and related disciplines.
Prize: 0 U.S. and one year's free membership in the IAFA to be awarded at the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts in March 2011. Winning essay to be published online at the IAFA website.
Deadline: October 31, 2010
We consider essays of up to 10,000 words in a language other than English (including notes and bibliography). Essays may be unpublished scholarship submitted by the author, or work already published (within the last year) nominated either by the author or another scholar (in which case the author's permission should be obtained before submission). An abstract in English must accompany all submissions. Submissions may be made electronically (preferred) in MS Word, Word Perfect, or RTF format, or by mail.
